To add samples to a container in the task , follow these steps:
- When in a task, select the samples you want to add to a container.
- Set the pattern for adding the samples.
Note: Patterns allow samples to be added to more than one container at a time. This is very useful for duplicating layouts.
- In each target container either :
- Select a single well. The samples will be added, starting at the current well, according to the options selected in the Pattern control.
- Select a pattern of wells. The samples will be added to the selected wells according to the options in the Pattern control starting from the current well.
- Click the Add-To-Task button.
Note:
- If a pattern of wells have been selected and there are more samples than the number of selected wells then not all the samples will be added to the container.
- If a single well has been selected or if the last well of a container is reached while samples are being added, the placement position will loop to the first well of the container and attempt to fill-in any empty wells.
- If there are more samples than free positions in a container a message will be displayed.
- If there is an insufficient volume of a sample to add the requested amount a confirmation dialogue box will be displayed.
