Editing a Method

To edit a method, follow these steps:

Open the method that you want to edit (See Opening a Method).
Make the required changes to the method, some examples are given below:
- Add a protocol. Drag the appropriate protocol component onto the designer.
- Remove a protocol. Select the protocol component to remove then press the Delete key or right-click on the component and select Delete from the context menu that appears.
- Add a connector. Modify the flow by creating new connections between components.
- Remove a connector. Select the connector that you want to remove then press the Delete key or right-click on the connector and select Delete from the context menu that appears.
- Modify the comment attached to a protocol. Double click the appropriate component and change the associated comment.
Click on the Save button from the File group.
If you are overwriting an existing method a confirmation dialogue box will ask you to confirm the changes, click Yes.
Click Ok on the Save Completed dialogue box.

Note: For better laboratory practice it is recommended that you assign the edited method a new version number instead of replacing an existing method.
