Importing Data

Laboratories that receive samples from external sources will often receive associated Excel files containing data about those samples. Each organisation has its own formatting standards and layouts, making it very difficult to import data in a consistent way. To simplify this process many laboratories use a template based approach – a correctly formatted Excel file with columns for all the required data. The client or the customer copies the required data into the template then uploads the file into the sample management system.
