Importing Results from a File

To import results from a file, follow these steps:

Click File Import from the File group of the Results tab. The File Import dialogue box is displayed.

Choose the appropriate result type.
Enter the location of one or more files or click the Browse button to navigate to the file.
Deselect the Use the filename checkbox in order to enter another name for the result.
Select whether to import the file into eLab or import file path into eLab.
Type the sample identifier, or click the checkbox below the Sample Id box to get the sample identifier from the end of the filename.
If necessary, deselect the Use the file created date and enter a date and or time.
In the comment box enter any text you want to associate with the result.
Click Import.

Note:

If you import as a file path, the result will appear under File Path in the tree-view of the result.
To automatically enter the sample id from the filename the sample id must be valid and separated from the rest of the filename by a hyphen. For example, MyFilename-3-4.jpg denotes a file associated with sample 3-4.
You can enter multiple sample identifiers in the Sample Id box by separating them with commas.
