To import results from a file, follow these steps:
- Click File Import from the File group of the
Results tab. The File Import dialogue box is displayed.

- Choose the appropriate result type.
- Enter the location of one or more files or click the Browse button to navigate to the file.
- Deselect the Use the filename checkbox in order to enter another name for the result.
- Select whether to import the file into eLab or import file path into eLab.
- Type the sample identifier, or click the checkbox below the Sample Id
box to get the sample identifier from the end of the filename.
- If necessary, deselect the Use the file created date and enter a date and or time.
- In the comment box enter any text you want to associate with the result.
- Click Import.
Note:
- If you import as a file path, the result will appear under File Path in the tree-view of the result.
- To automatically enter the sample id from the filename the sample id must be valid and separated from the rest of the filename by a hyphen. For example, MyFilename-3-4.jpg denotes a file associated with sample 3-4.
- You can enter multiple sample identifiers in the Sample Id box by separating them with commas.
