Introduction to Groups

Groups are collections of users with the same set of affiliations. For example, members of the routine laboratory may all be part of the Routine group. Groups are created and managed through the Groups wizard. The wizard is accessed by clicking the Groups button from the Administration group of the Home tab.

Each Group has the following core properties:

Group Name. The name of the group.
Group Type. The group type can be one of the following:
- Laboratory. One of the internal groups of your laboratory.
- External Laboratory. A group that is external to your laboratory or does not use eLab.
- Customer. A customer of your laboratory.
- Hardware Manufacturer. A company that manufactures equipment or disposables used by your laboratory.
Contact details. Each groups has the following contact details: Address, Country, City, State/Region, Zip/Post Code, Web Address, and Comments.
