The Home tab is the default tab that you see after starting eLab. It provides overviews of the current worklists and tasks and allows you to access the administrative functionality of the system. The administrative features of eLab are discussed in Administration Step-By-Step.

The Tasks section displays the tasks that the user has permission to access. Each line represents a single task and displays the following details:
Protocol. The name of the protocol used by the task.
- Version. The version number of the protocol.
- Task Id. A number that uniquely identifies the task.
- Ready. The number of samples in the task that have not been completed or failed.
- Failed. The number of samples that have failed processing by the task.
- Completed. The number of samples that have been processed by the task and have not failed.
The Worklist section displays a summary of the details of the samples that are waiting in worklists for processing by tasks. The section displays the following details:
- Protocol. The name of the protocol that applies to the worklist.
- Low. The number of low priority samples in the worklist.
- Medium. The number of medium priority samples in the worklist.
- High. The number of high priority samples in the worklist.
