Repairing a SQL Server Express Instance

Do not user this option unless instructed to by eBioSys.

To repair an instance of SQL Server, follow these steps:

On the End User License Agreement page, read the license agreement and if you agree click Accept.
On the Overview screen click Next.
On the Options page, click Show advanced options and then click Repair an SQL Server Express instance .
Select the SQL Server instance that you want to repair from the SQL Server name control.
Select one of the following validation options, and then click Next.
- Server Key. Use this option if you have lost your administration password or it is not being accepted. Follow the instructions of the Request a Sever Key section to obtain a server key.
- Database Passwords or keys. Use this option to enter the administrator password or database key for each of the databases installed a SQL Server instance. Follow the instructions of the Request a Database Key section to obtain a database key.
Click Accept.
Click Close to close the wizard.

Note: On a given server you can install multiple SQL Server database engines; each engine is referred to as an instance.
